NEWSCASTER: A Pinellas County judge denied a motion the Church of Scientology Flag Ship Service Organization filed in December. The church faces a civil lawsuit over the death of Lisa McPherson.

footage of Clearwater candlelight vigil for Lisa McPherson; shot of a display with sign with picture of Lisa McPherson and caption, "Lisa McPherson, 1959-1995" as well as some other signs partially visible saying "Victim of Scientology"; close-up of Lisa's picture on the sign; more footage of candlelight vigil

NEWSCASTER, VOICE OF: Judge George Greer denied the church's motion which claimed McPherson's aunt, Dell Liebrich, is not the official trustee of McPherson's estate. McPherson was a church member who died in December of 1995. In the lawsuit her family blames the church for her death. Dell Liebrich, as McPherson's representative, is suing the church over McPherson's death. If the judge had ruled in favor of the church, it might have put a stop to the civil lawsuit. The trial is scheduled to begin in June.
